AutoCMS 1.2 [ACMS12]  reads tape-search dumps from the Colorado Tape Backup
System's Tape.EXE file and creates an ASCII delimited output file suitable

ACzar 2.10 [ACZAR210]  is an archive shell. NEW: added several environment
variables, updated support for PKZip, support for SQZ and HYP files, better
detection of ZIP, ARJ, LZH, ARC, PAK, ZOO, SQZ, and HYP files, and more.

ArcMaster 10.2 [AM102]  is designed to make it easier to work with archive
files. NEW: added color configuration of message line and status lines,

ArcPlus 6.0A [AP600A]  is a file manager with full archiving ability. It
creates archives in any format from all disks and paths on your system. The
program supports ZIP, ARJ, PAK, PKA, ARC, LBR, ZOO, and QWK archive formats.

ArcTool 8.0 [AT800]  is an archive manager and shell for ZIP, ARJ, ARC, PAK,
and ZOO. It also recognizes EXE archives. ArcTool can handle up to five
layers of archives inside of other archives. It allows you to view, print,
extract, and convert archives to any format; view ANSI files; associate any
program with any file extension and edit the FILE_ID.DIZ inside of archives.

AtBat 1.01 [ATBAT101]  creates and executes batch files which consist of a
specified list of files, each associated with the same DOS command or other
text. The files may be selected by size, file dates, attributes, or

AVScan 1.47a [AVSCAN]  is a virus scanner. NEW: cosmetic changes of screen
output during MBR scan, new signatures added, XMS usage fully implemented.

CatDisk 7.40 [CD740D]  catalogs files, including contents of subdirectories
and archives. (Rick Hillier, reg. fee: $29)

CMEditor 3.18a [CE318A]  is a text file editor for large files. (NoVaSoft,
reg. fee: $10)

CM_Filer 5.36q [CF536Q]  is a powerful file manager with a double directory
display. NEW: optimized file copying routines to save time, improved editor
exit routine. (NoVaSoft, reg. fee: $30)

CHKFree 1.01 [CHKFREE]  will check all drives, including network drives, for
a specified amount of disk space. (N.A.M. Enterprises, reg. fee: $5)

Clean-Up 1.13 [CLEANUP]  fixes virus problems. NEW: identification of all
viruses detected by the current version of VirusScan, removers for the
Arusiek and Tamper viruses. (McAfee Associates, Inc., reg. fee: $35)

Compare 1.0 [COMP_RSZ]  compares the contents of two text files and writes
any differences to a file. (RS Zale, reg. fee: $0)

CompDate 1.04 [COMPDATE]  is a program intended for use within batch files
which will compare file dates. It could be used to allow a batch process to
determine whether or not to execute a file export procedure. Pascal source
code is included. (Radiodetection Corp., reg. fee: $0)

DelAll 1.10 [DA110]  will delete all files with the same extension in the
current directory and all subdirectories. It can also remove a subdirectory
after performing deletions. (Omer Yalhi, reg. fee: $13)

Disk Copy Fast 4.6 [DCF46]  is a one-pass disk duplicating utility. NEW:
enhanced video and mouse routines, added small file manager to access image
files. (DCF Software, reg. fee: $25)

D/CRYPT-IT 1.0 [DCI100SW]  is a file encryptor which encrypt files first
with the user supplied password and then again using the program password.

DD - Cohen 4.0 [DD400_KC]  will display a sorted directory using various
sorting criteria. It also allows you to configure colors for each file
extension, control types of files to display, and direct output to a
printer. (Conquest Software, reg. fee: $12)

DIZDIR 1.8a [DIZDIR18]  creates an ASCII file listing of all ZIP, ARJ, LZH,
ARC, and SFX files in a directory on your system and uses the FILE_ID.DIZ,
or FILE.DES included in the archive as a description for the file. It will
list files files that do not have FILE_ID.DIZ, or only files that do. It can
develop one-liner listings. It also handles listings for Wildcat and

DIZEdit 4.9g [DIZED49G]  allows you to edit the description files found in
archives NEW: ability to convert archives to a default format, repack
archives to minimize size, recognize most ARJ/ZIP/LZH SFX files, strip or
add archive comments for ARJ and ZIP, automatic virus scan using popular
scan programs, update archive date with today/newest/oldest file date, add
BBS files to the archive such as ADS etc, and included an INI file which can

Double 1.1 [DOUBLE]  tells you if a drive is DoubleSpaced. NEW: additional
option for searching across all drives without being prompted. (John De

Command Line Text Editor 1.8 [EDTEXT]  is a replacement for the DOS Edlin
utility. It allows you to make line changes to any small batch file or text
file using a variety of switches from the command line. (Herman R. Willett,

FileBuddy 3.12 [FB312]  is a combination text, archive, and image file
viewer. NEW: the ability to run multiple copies of FileBUDDY on a network,

Fdate - SF 8.4a [FDATE_SF]  lets you do date and time arithmetic in batch
files. NEW: additional string-handling functions, a function to convert
numbers to extended hex format, added output formats "ddmmccyy" and

Floppy Drive Clean 1.0 [FDCLEAN]  is designed for use with diskette drive
cleaning programs. It will keep a maintenance log of each cleaning, along

File Description Editor 1.20 [FDE120]  is a 4DOS compatible editor for file

Fr. John's Shareware Batch File Tutorials [FJTUTOR]  consists of 10 lessons
and 50 odd examples of writing batch files, from simple to complex. These
tutorials will guide you in writing any sort of batch file and any sort of
information screen in a combination of colors or in a simple batch file

FMT [FMT]  formats any disk in any drive in which it fits. A couple of
keystrokes will format any disk with a normal format or a with a quicker

Global Security 1.1 [GLBSEC]  allows you to encrypt any file for security
while transmitting. It also features hot keys, error reporting, and a file
selection screen. There is a 16 and 32 bit version included. (MacGregor K.

HexEdit 1.1 [HEXEDIT]  is an easy-to-use byte editing editor. You can toggle
to character mode to edit, using characters instead of bytes. Some features
are turned off on this version. Requires 640K RAM. (Duval-Soft, reg. fee:

Internal Commands 2.2 [IC]  is an 18k TSR that adds many additional commands
to DOS, most of which are mainly of use in batch files. (Geoff Friesen, reg.
fee: $15)

KryptoNiten 1.4 [KRYPTON]  is a high level encryption/decryption program. It
supports the Data Encryption Standard (DES). Requires 512K RAM and EGA/VGA.

EZ-Disk Admiral YDA500c [YDA500C]  catalogs the directories of all of your
disks, including hard disks. (EZX Publishing, reg. fee: $20)

EZ-DisKlone YDK500c [YDK500C]  performs single pass disk duplications. (EZX
Publishing, reg. fee: $20)

Dynamic Directory 1.0 [DD_JLC]  is a simple directory utility program which
lists files in two columns. Files can be sorted by name, extension, size or
date, and are color coded for easy identification. (JLC, reg. fee: $0)

DD 4.01a [DD401A]  is a replacement for the DOS DIR command. It displays
files in one, two, three, four, or six columns, sorted, and in
user-configurable colors. (Conquest Software, reg. fee: $12)

DrvSpc 2.0 [DRVSPC]  is a disk drive space and resource reporting utility.

DTR 4.0 [DTR40]  copies a disk to files and vice versa. It also formats

FMat 6.5 [FMAT65]  is a does-it-all diskette formatter. It allows
maxi-formats that, for example, format a 1.2MB diskette as a 720K and much

ForMenu 4.0 [FORMENU]  is a menu-driven program for formatting disks. (Jeff

Free III 2.0e+ [FREE3]  will display disk space usage of all hard drives and

Mac-ette 3.01u [MACETTE3]  will read, write, format and duplicate Macintosh
HFS format 1.4 Meg diskettes on a PC equipped with a 3.5 inch high density
diskette drive. (Acute Systems, reg. fee: $34)

MV - JMW 1.0 [MV1_0]  is a file moving program. (James M Walters, reg. fee:

Recall [RECALL]  recovers from inadvertently copying files from a floppy
into the wrong harddisk directory. (Bill Schueler, reg. fee: $5)

Sqwez 1.0 [SQWEZ]  is a multi-file compression package. It outputs a
self-expanding program. (JM Software, reg. fee: $)

Stealth 5.0 [STEALTH5]  is an archive converter. NEW: supports the LIMIT
archiver. (David Smith, reg. fee: $15)

UpCopy 2.0 [UPCSH2]  copies new files from one location to another in both
directions. It asks questions, shows file information and can show file
comparisons before doing this. (Cybernetic Software, reg. fee: $30-45)

WDAT_IDE 3.3 [WDAT_IDE]  scans the media and remaps any grown defects on a
Western Digital drive. It also provides performance data such as seek times
and data access ties. (Western Digital, reg. fee: $0)

WDel 1.7 [WDEL17]  irretrievably deletes files. (GoatEye Software, reg. fee:
$0)

WDFmt 2.10 [WDFMT]  can be used on any Western Digital AT disk controller to
perform a low level format of the disk, verify the entire disk, mark bad
tracks that were found and/or enter the bad track map, and perform a surface
test of the disk. (Western Digital, reg. fee: $0)

Wistar Daily Reminder 6.2 [WDREMIND]  is used in the autoexec.bat file to
remind you of important events that are happening on today's date. (Wilstar

OneADay 1.1 [1ADAY11]  allows you to execute as many as 10 commands from
your AUTOEXEC.BAT file only once a day or on specified days. (Gray Software
Development, reg. fee: $17)

KSort 1.2 [KSORT12]  sorts text files of any size up to 20Mb or one million
lines. The syntax is identical to the DOS Sort program and it uses no stack,
so it won't cause a stack overflow on difficult files, such as
reverse-ordered files. C source code is included. (Josh Greifer, reg. fee:

Match Files 2.0 [MATCH]  compares two files and displays the differences

Menu-Man 1.3 [MENU_130]  displays menus in batch files. (MicroMetric, reg.

Oblit 1.4 [OBLIT14]  deletes files in such a way that they cannot be

PocketD Plus 4.0 [POCKETD4]  is a file utility with over 120 options. NEW:
File viewing supports unix-type text files. A user-defined option allows a
command to be added to the browser. Browsing allows you to view the contents
of files within archives. Browse options also include the ability to
uncompress any archived file or whole archive and copy any file. (Jeff

Password 1.6 [PWORD]  provides password protection by displaying a fake DOS
prompt when the program is activated. (Blackwell Software, reg. fee: $5)

QCopy - UF 4.0 [QCOPY40]  is a disk copying and format utility which will
allow you to copy and format any size disk. Fragmented files on the source
disk will be written in one block on the target disk. (Ulrich Feldmueller,

Quick Directory 1.32a [QDIR132]  is an archive, file and directory manager.
(Superware, reg. fee: $33)

RDir 1.44 [RDIR144]  displays relative directory size in pie and bar charts.

RFile 1.18 [RFILE118]  displays relative file size in a pie chart of all
files from a selected directory. (R.P. McCormick, reg. fee: $7)

SpaceBak 1.0a [SBBACK24]  allows you create more disk space by deleting
unused files from the hard disk with the option of backing them up before
deleting. You can also get a printout of all of the files which have not

ViruScan 9.24/1.13 [SCAN]  scans diskettes or entire systems and identifies
any pre-existing PC virus infection. NEW: adds detection of 13 new viruses
and 15 variants, fixed problem with false report of DiskWasher virus on PCs

See - MicroFox 4.0 [SEE400]  can view files from the command line or from a
menu of files. The viewer features text search, scrolling commands, and a
command which will freeze a few lines of text while the rest of the document

SmartFile 1.10 [SF110]  is a file manager which features the ability to mark
one or more files to copy, move, delete, set attributes, or print, a file
viewer, text search, perform many common DOS commands, such as renaming
files and creating directories, file sorting, and more. (Michael D. Chaney,

Shez 9.8 [SHEZ]  is a shell program to make viewing and working with archive
files user friendly. (California Software Design, reg. fee: $39)

Simply Docs 2.0 [SIMDOC20]  will convert any plain text file into a
self-displaying executable, complete with text search, page numbering, color
configuration, and more. Included are utilities for capturing portions of a
screen for use in your files and for making the files work as pop-up TSRs.

Since - RPM 1.30 [SINCE130]  will create a list of files which have been
used since a specified date and time, or since an attribute was given to the

Size 1.0 [SIZE]  will display the size of the subdirectory this file is
executed from. It will also show files larger than a specified size, deepest
directory in the tree, largest subdirectory and the size of all subdirectory

Show Two Files 1.45 [STF145]  compares two ASCII text files side-by-side.
Files can be scrolled through independently or together, differences are
highlighted by dimming unequal lines in one file. and text searches can be

File Sweeper 1.2 [SWEEPER]  deletes unnecessary files created by compilers

ThunderByte Anti-Virus 6.12 [TBAV612]  is a toolkit designed to protect
against computer viruses and to recover from them. NEW: a description of all
viruses in the signature file, their behavior, what kind of damage they
perform, how to clean them, etc. uses low-level routines to locate a virus
on an unreadable disk, unregistered version of TbScan now supports just 1
user defined signature, support to immunize the secondary hard disk, added

ThunderByte Anti-Virus Utilities 6.12 [TBAVX612]  is an addition to the
ThunderByte Anti-Virus program. It contains the processor optimized versions
of the resident TBAV utilities which take advantage of processor dependant
features and are therefore slightly faster and smaller than the generic

Textcon 1.73 [TEXTC173]  is a file pre-processor that does much of the
necessary conversion or cleaning-up of ASCII automatically. (CrossCourt

TranScan 4.11 [TSCN411]  is a compressed file virus scanner and converter.
NEW: corrected problem with QEMM 7+ compatibility, RIP graphics support for

Virtual Disk Browser 1.0 [VDBRWS]  is a file cataloging program designed for
users of Syquest, Bernoulli, and other removable disks. It will create a
list of files on disks, allowing you to locate files without having to
insert, spin up, browse and remove a succession of disks. (Bruce W. Evans,

ViDir/ViRes File Monitoring System 1.02 [VIDIR]  determines which files you
do not use, makes back ups of them, and deletes them from the system.

Vision Edit 3.5 [VISED35]  is a text editor which allows you to edit several
files simultaneously. (Andrzej Brzezinski, reg. fee: $38)

View_Man 1.0 [VMAN100]  lets you view, and edit a selected file in HEX or
ASCII. It features string searches, search and count, and search and
replace. It also includes a macro utility for simplifying repetitive tasks.

VShield 5.58V113 [VSHIELD]  scans programs as they are run for virus
signatures and validation codes added by ViruScan. NEW: detection of viruses
added in Version 113 of ViruScan, options to check the boot sector of floppy
disks whenever a diskette is accessed, and disable the boot sector checking

WDN: Wipe Directory Names 1.21 [WDN121]  will remove empty subdirectories
from your hard drive, including hidden subdirectories. (R.P.McCormick, reg.

What Floppy Format? 1.7h [WFF17H]  is a menu shell for Christophe
Hochstatter's FDFormat (which is on PsL disk #2459 and on the PsL Utilities

W - The Note Writer 4.0 [WNOTE40]  allows you to create, and edit documents
of up to 50K. It features word wrap, converting to ASCII text, and an option
to provide a short description of the document to ease future
